Mission Statement

We at H.E.L.P. MAMa believe in the power of Jesus Christ to deliver persons from the grip of Addiction and to heal and restore their lives, families, and community.

Teens and young people are most vulnerable to the horrors of Meth addiction. They are faced with the decision each day to try Meth for the first time. Addiction to methamphetamine (meth) is an increasing problem in eastern North Carolina and specifically Duplin County.

The alarming fact is the tremendous increase in methamphetamine being seized. Meth is being "cooked" throughout the county. Individuals have meth labs in their houses, storage buildings and in their cars.

Meth is an extremely potent form of "speed" that is ravaging our youth and young adults. Meth has a 98% addiction rate. Of the people who try meth once, 98% get addicted to it within one year and 75% of them within one week.

Meth is destroying families and destroying lives. Addicts neglect, abuse and abandon their families. They become paranoid and violent. Meth will cause them to serve time in prison, brain damage or death.
